Hello and welcome to our first post of our new blog. We decided to kick off today with a post about National Unicorn Day. Yes, this is a thing. And we embrace it, whole-heartedly. It's been fun to see other people embrace it as well. The barista at the coffee shop had her own horn, as did several other people at the grocery store. Candace and I kicked off the day with a short live video on Facebook. We have a display of several books about unicorns: board books, picture books and even chapter books. We also had a story time featuring some of the books.
Why unicorns? Why not? It's a reminder to embrace that inner sense of wonder and imagination- which is what we are hoping to convey with this blog. We love all things books, especially those that may be a little off beat. The book to read aloud today was "How to Catch a Unicorn" by Adam Wallace.
Our next story times will be during Children's Books Week April 30th-May 4th. More information to follow as we get closer to that week.
We look forward to sharing some of our favorite new releases and book reviews as well as nifty gift items that we are excited about in future posts.
Fun! Looking forward to future posts!
